Campaign Reform

Created by M.M. on December 09, 2011

Put into place the following: 1) Prohibit campaigning of any kind until no sooner than six weeks prior to Election Day; 2) Only allow ads or debates that address issues – not other candidates /records; 3) Cap individual campaign “war chests” to an amount agreed on by voters based on clearly identified costs; 4) do not allow corporations, lobbyists, 501c(3) or 501c(4) organizations, or any like entity to contribute to campaigns – allow only individual persons not representing any other entity or person and limit the yearly contribution to $10,000 whether in cash, goods or services; and 5) forbid candidates to sign any pledge or promise that will interfere with their ability to independently exercise the will of the constituents who elected them when voting, debating or deciding issues.
