We urge our U.S. senators to vote to “can the ban” on U.S. crude-oil exports and urge President Obama to sign a bill when it reaches his desk. The reasons for enacting restrictions 40 years ago no longer apply.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration found lifting the ban could decrease gasoline prices for U.S. consumers.
The Center for Energy Studies at Rice University said removing the export ban will have positive “implications for overall market function, infrastructure investment and energy sector activity.”
The Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University said lifting the ban will improve U.S. security overall.
