In 1991 Ukraine, leaving the Soviet Union, became an independent state. Since that time, Ukrainians wishing to visit the United States must obtain a U.S. visa, having a long and complicated procedure. At the same time, U.S. citizens can visit Ukraine without a visa for up to three months. Today, Ukrainians proved to the world that freedom does not stop the dictatorship. For freedom, in February 2014, they paid hundreds of their own lives. Without weapons, they confronted thousands of armed special units under the direct command of President Yanukovych. The American people need to help Ukraine become firmly on the path of democracy and freedom, to cancel the visa, thereby allow Ukrainians to visit the U.S., and personally see what they can become a prosperous country.
