Monday is Monday. Just leave it alone.
Tuesday is useless, another day blown.
Then it's ol' Wednesday. We're halfway there.
Still two days til Friday. It doesn't seem fair.
Along comes our Thursday, at quite the brisk clip.
Now if only Friday were one we could skip.
Straight on to the weekend -- Sat- and Sunday,
We've waited a week to have some time to play.
So we undersigned have one simple request:
Dispense with Friday and we promise our best.
From Monday through Thursday we'll work full of glee.
And spend on the weekend -- boost th' economy.
Oh whitehouse.gov, unleash your great powers.
Spare us those fifth workday's pokey eight hours.
Maintaining Friday seems so hard to defend.
So dump it for Thursday straight to the weekend.
