Dear Mr President,
I am the mother of a child who suffered a neurological impairment at birth due to a medical malpractice.
Her court approved settlement (which happened after 6 years of the initial law suit) went to a new fund called the Medical Indemnity Fund
Under Medicaid, she was not accepted by a wide range of specialized doctors and therapists and we were waiting for her settlement to start taking her to those doctors and improve her quality of life
Unfortunately, the funds went to this M.I.F which eventually becomes the hand responsible for deciding the medical necessities for my daughter who in fact nobody knows what's good and appropriate for her better than her parents. My daughter should not pay for the wrong doings of other parents who misused the monies of their impaired kids
