Cancel Patent 6630507: Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants

Created by C.C. on August 25, 2016

The United States of America as represented by the Department of Health & Human Services holds patent 6630507: Cannabinoids as antioxidants & neuroprotectants while the Federal Agency: Drug Enforcement Administration denies the medical benefit of the plant Cannabis. In addition to the impact this has on lower social, economic individuals & minorities (whether that be in fines, jail time, or denial of access to a plant which has shown beneficial in a variety of conditions & illness), it also is an insult to the patent process. "A plant patent is granted by the Government to an inventor ... who has invented or discovered & asexually reproduced a distinct & new variety of plant, other than ... found in an uncultivated state." You cannot find in 1999 what has been criminalized since the 1900's
