Candidates running for public office must pass a Civil Service exam.

Given the dearth of knowledge exhibited by politicians with regard to the U.S. Constitution and the basic workings of government, all candidates running for public office, whether federal, state or local, must pass a Civil Service exam as part of the process to stand for election or appointment to office. In addition to covering the U.S. Constitution, the exam would test the prospective candidate’s knowledge of civics and basic U.S. history. The results of the exams would become public record. Candidates would be required to re-take the exam every time they run for office, whether for a new office or re-election.
