Congressional salaries are inconsistent with the current average salaries of their constituents. Members of Congress should have a salary cap of $30,000 annually with a 3% cost of living increase, which is received on a sliding scale based on approval rating. Existing pensions will also be reduced to $30,000 annually if the amount received currently exceeds the threshold. Any member of Congress which does not vote at a rate of not less than 90% will receive a reduced salary.
