CAPT Williams, "The Forgotten Hero of The Forgotten War" Re-review for recognition

Created by C.E. on May 11, 2016

On Nov. 18, 1952, LT Royce Williams unhesitatingly, single-handedly shot down 4 superior MiG-15s in his F9F-5 defending Task Force 77. Out of ammo from a fierce 35 minute solo fight, Williams received 263 perforations and a 37 mm hit that badly damaged his controls. LT Williams successfully disengaged and demonstrated outstanding airmanship, landing safely on the USS Oriskany at 170 knots (normal 105 knots). An amazing feat that is unmatched either in the Korean War, the Vietnam War or since. We, the people are requesting re-review for recognition for his act of valor given in service to country and that were kept "Top Secret" for fifty years. We are requesting that Congress consider Williams for the MOH.
