We are creating this petition on behalf of those without a voice. Yes, we are talking about animal rights. What most people don't realize is that when they buy their fluffy friends from chain pet stores, such as PETCO, they are receiving dogs who were most likely born and raised in abusive puppy mills, where they are subject to a life of isolation and inhumane conditions. Puppy mill owners breed dogs purely for profit and as consumer products rather than living beings with natural rights. There is an estimated number of 10,000 puppy mills operating in the US and only 26 states have laws to regulate commercial kennels to prevent animal abuse and cruelty. If people are aware of puppy mill conditions, they will think twice when buying their next household pet. Support local breeders!
