Caribbean American/Caribbean Region Permanent Ambassador to CARICOM.

Created by Z.S. on May 23, 2012

The Caribbean American community has maintained strong links to the region of their birth. The best and brightest have immigrated, many have made significant contribution to the US and have a longing to see the region develop free from drugs, improved economic well being, education reaching out to the poorest and climate change addressed in a creative way.

A permanent appointment of a US Ambassador to CARICOM would highlight our commitment to the region, our determination to lead when demanded and to be at the table when decisions are made in a "global" context.

The US must view the region as a single entity that is struggling to move beyon political independence; such an Ambassador would also serve as a direct "Liaison" to the respective Caribbean Ambassadors at the UN & Washington.
