Consumers receive frequent robocalls from entities with names similar to "Credit Card Services" claiming to reduce credit card interest rates. It is widely believed these calls are fraudulent attempts to obtain personal information for identity theft.
These calls violate the Do Not Call list as established by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act as the calls are not:
a) from organizations with which recipients have established a business relationship;
b) from entities which have prior written permission;
c) commercial or do not include unsolicited advertisements;
d) by or on behalf of tax-exempt non-profit organizations.
We petition the Administration to STRONGLY urge the Attorney General to investigate, discover and prosecute person or persons responsible for these calls.
