This is a violation of their Constitutional rights, and it must be brought to an abrupt end, regardless of whatever threats to national security may be present. In the words of one of America's founding fathers, Benjamin Franklin, "Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." The federal government must seriously need self-reflection and reform if it cannot protect its people without turning into a survalience state.
