We should further cease all medical insurance for Congresspersons or Senators after the age of 65. They should have to receive Medicare just like the rest of us and to pay for their supplements. These actions would save billions of dollars per year on our budget and would benefit everyone. Also, Congress and the Senate should not be allowed to vote on their benefits or pay increases. They should be decided by the people in a national election. Welfare reform is greatly needed. I think it is horrendous that food stamps are allowed to buy soft drinks from gas stations. I couldn't afford it for my children when they were young and they drank Kool-Aid because that was what I could afford. Food stamps should be for essential food only, healthy items, not junk candy and sodas.
