Every year we continue to send countless dollars in aid to other countries while here in our OWN, Americans go without the basic necessities of life: Food, Clothing, and Shelter.
We need to stop sending our money, food and efforts abroad and focus them here first. America needs to clean up its OWN backyard before we can help others do the same.
Setup a "Work for Benefits" program where homeless/jobless individuals join a work force whose efforts are compensated by housing, food stuffs and a stipent. There is much work to be done in this country and a labor force of that size could do great things, restoring pride, a sense of belonging and contribution to those who've become part of it.
We need to make America our focus.
