Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution states that the authority and responsibility to declare war rests solely in the hands of Congress. Under no circumstances is an executive decision to unilaterally engage in acts of aggress against another nation constitutional, regardless of the approval from any foreign entity to do so- as codified in the War Powers Resolution of 1973.
The recent decisions to fund the French occupation of Mali, approve military aid to Israel, and initiate drone strikes against Pakistan, Yemen, Niger, Somalia, and Libya, have led millions of Americans to believe that the current administration does not feel as if it is subject to the Rule of Law. We the people, ask you to cease and desist any military actions that lack expressed consent of our state representatives.
