The Pentagon is choosing to waste 1.5 trillion dollars on the F-35 fighter jet, in a time when government funds should be respectfully spent on the American people's welfare and economic recovery. Such money can go towards education (Pell grants, school lunches, updating school infrastructure), healthcare betterment, and more worthy causes. The jet's production and landing base already has its foes, such as residents close to the Burlington Intl. Airport, and military aircraft expert Pierre Sprey, who warns the F-35 is an immature venture, and can result in a crash endangering Americans living around the base.
We are in a time of fragile recovery, not in a time to blow trillions on new, unnecessary military toys.
