The Neo Liberal Economics, as developed and practiced since the Reagan era, has moved toward ever more deregulation in the financial practices of big banks and Wall Street, allowing banks to both save and invest, create complicated hedge funds, and bundle good mortgages with the bad, and then wager against their success. There has been a trend toward deregulating that has gone against reasonable precaution, which led to the financial crisis of 2007, the Economic Gap between the top % and the working classes both middle and poor, climate change, industrial and agricultural practices that exploit the land, the livestock, and the workers in ways that lead to pollution, cruelty, and dehumanization. Sustainable economics turns to the reasonable uses of clean energy, ecosystems, and communities.
