The United States of America is a constitutional republic. Our country elects representatives to represent us, with limits to these politician's power in our constitution.
However, congress, and the Obama Administration, refers to our country as a democracy in public statements and speeches. A democracy is a form of government where everyone votes on all the bills, which we do not do.
Please start calling our country what it is.
