The United States Government currently incarcerates many Americans for selling or distributing schedule 1 drugs. The government profits from at least one drug on this schedule in the form of tax revenue from at least 23 states. This revenue is estimated in the trillions. I propose that individuals incarcerated for distributing schedule one drugs be released as it is conflict of interest for government to incarcerate Americans for selling schedule one drugs labeled as no medicinal value when we as a nation utilize the same schedule of drugs for medicinal profit.
