The flag represents our nation, the freedom we enjoy and the blood spilt to achieve it.
We should not give those perpetrating acts of terror the satisfaction of seeing us lower this symbol to half staff due to their act of terror. Be they foreign or domestic, terrorists do not dictate how our nation's flag is flown, we do.
It is in these moments we should be most bold in its display, not yielding in the least to the effects they desire to instill upon us through their atrocious acts.
