Cease minting new Pennies (1 cent pieces)

We implore the United States federal government to cease production of new pennies (1 cent pieces). The reasoning behind this is that pennies cost more to create than they are worth and almost nobody uses pennies. You're more likely to see someone throwing pennies down the road for fun than see someone actually using them to pay for something. Other countries who have abolished the penny include Australia and more recently Canada. Unless the Obama Administration can come up with a legitimate reason to continue wasting money minting pennies regardless of the massive national debt that is constantly building they should halt production of pennies immediately.
