Cease minting the one cent coin (the penny), and naturally remove the coin from circulation.

Created by C.R. on October 31, 2014

In the 2013 fiscal years, it cost 1.8 cents to mint a single one cent coin. These coins are unusable in almost all vending machines. They collect in coin banks in homes around America instead of through the economy as currency is supposed to.

Instead of seeking out less expensive materials to mint coins from, I suggest the administration ceases the minting of new pennies, and allows them to be removed from circulation naturally.
