I hereby urge the President to cease minting the penny. The 1 Cent coin costs more to mint than it is worth, and in light of the current financial situation, this is not healthy.
To make this work, simply round the overall price at checkout up to the nearest Nickel, meaning that it only costs the buyer up to 4 cents at the register, but it saves our country millions annually.
