The Fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution states, "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."
However, with the recent revelations of the dragnet surveillance being conducted by the National Security Agency (http://nyti.ms/10SZXaO), it is clear that widespread monitoring of the American people is taking place, violating the right to privacy and creating a chilling effect on free speech. We request that the United States government cease this overbroad surveillance and restrict its bounds.
