Federal elected officals continue to threaten the American people about shutting down the government, sequestration of funds, or other fiscal calamity, while continuing to receive slaries and other compensation. Further, this seem to be borne of poltiical party gamesmanship to the detriment of service to the American people. In short, such actions amount to a form of extortion and must be punished.
