Lobbyist in this country have far too much power and influence. They have more power that the American people do which is inherently wrong, because we are a nation of people not corporations (in spite of SCOTUS misguided ruling to the contrary). Members of Congress will, and have used their power while in office to affect change for industries that they hope to represent when they leave office. Congressional members know how incredibly lucrative the position of lobbyist can be, often times, and at a minimum, at least triple their Congressional salaries. That is undue influence being exerted while still in office. If they are unable to become lobbyist, then we are far more apt to get votes based on facts, and not votes placed with the intention of currying favors from future employers.
