We the people are being plague by the notorious 1 ¢ coin. We call it the penny. As of last year it cost the u.s mint 2¢ to produce only 1 penny. This costs our government millions of dollars just to keep it alive. It is estimated that the cost to produce the penny was 58,000,000$ in 2012. Due to inflation the penny keeps losing its value.
Many nations have already got rid of their 1¢ coin and the people are doing fine if not better. Such example are Canada, New Zealand and Brazil to name a few. The reason is the penny is worthless and leach on our economy unless you are looking for exact change the penny presents no value. I mean many people put pennies in jars which never goes back in our economy
If we can eliminate the one cent coin I know we can make a difference.
