The penny(and the nickel!) cost twice as much to make as they are worth. The penny is valued at a cent, and yet costs us 2.1 cents to make. This costs us hundreds of millions of dollars a year as a nation. The only reason it hasn't been changed is because it would take a lot of work and our congress has gotten a little lazy.
We should eliminate any monetary denomination that doesn't benefit us. The only people it benefits are in the zinc industry, and they have sent out million-dollar ad campaigns to keep the penny in circulation.
Please eliminate worthless currency.
