America started embargoing Cuba in October of 1960 and nearly completely embargoed them by February of 1962. The whole Idea of embargoing a country because they refuse to move toward "Democratization" is ridicules. We the American people are missing out on easily traded goods from a people only a 100 miles away from our coast. How are the people supposed to move towards a democratic government if all they know about the United States is that we are the ones that keep them driving cars from the 60's and it is us that drag down their economy.
It is time for Cuba to get a helping hand from America. Not only will ending this Embargo help the Cuban people and the American people. It will also help the Cuban government come closer to democracy.
