Celebrate and recognize the efforts and hardships faced by the gay community on June 1st as an official national holiday

Created by R.M. on January 22, 2013

For a very long time, the LGBT community has faced hardships and unequal treatment throughout the world; let us show our support and respect as a country by creating an official national holiday.
I propose that on June 1st, the first day of LGBT pride month, we take a break from our everyday lives to understand the importance of equality, which this country is so based from; and to celebrate the continuing movement to further the rights to marriage the gay community deserves.
Let June 1st become Gay Rights Day.
