Islamic Holidays Should Be Celebrated, Just Like Other National Holidays. In America, the Muslim population has grown tremendously in the past few years. A lot of their children go to regular public and private schools that don't recognize that they too have a holiday like Yom Kippur or Christmas in which they need a day off to celebrate.
This petition is for them to have that day off so they won't be absent.We want our children to go to the best colleges and univesrsities and 12+ absenses won't look good on a college application!
Imagine how many muslim kids go to regular schools. That means thousands of kids missing a day of school every year. It's only 1-2 days that we ask of for no school out of the about 180 day school year! Islam is a religion too!
