Todd Akin a congressman from Missouri needs to be censured by Congress for his irresponsible and damaging remarks launching an outrageous attack on women by claiming survivors of "legitimate rape" have biological defenses against pregnancy.
Not only does this dehumanize the victims of rape, but can potentially open the doors of allowing rapist to go unpunished.
Men and women have been victims of rape. It is a criminal and punishable offense. To dilute this law is to condone the act in itself.
