Currently our congressional and federal campaigns are funded through individual donation. This petition is to change that fundng to public funding.
Our current system results in:
lobbyists and the well monied exert an undue influence on our legislative process.
elected officials must continually fund raise so that they may run their next campaign. As a result they spend a great deal of time working to get the money to keep their job instead of actually doing their job.
Our elected officials should place all their allegiance to the people who they represent. Unfortunately their allegiance maybe misplaced with campaign donars
