This petition is to remove the phrase "except as punishment for a crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted" from the 13th amendment of the United States constitution. Lincoln never abolished slavery, he privatized it in our prison system. This petition will force the closure of all of the factories attached to the prison system, give the 870,000 jobs currently being held by the incarcerated to free American citizens, and pay them a living wage for performing these jobs. Human beings are NOT property! This petition can and will effectively end the drug war by removing the profit margin from enslaving the American people in prison. #LetMyPeopleGo
