Raising taxes on people who earn $250,000 or over does not TAX THE RICH. It hurts every American. The earners in that approximate bracket are the backbone of America; the people who earn less need the middle class left alone, so they are able to buy-purchase items that lower income people provide. Small local stores and shops, restaurants, and bakeries, lumber yards and hardware stores and others are closing, and the poor and the lower middle class will suffer greatly if the threshold is not raised to the true wealthy: the millionaires, those who are taxed at $1,000,000. and over. Although it is understood that the Government needs to raise revenues, this will hurt all of America if the $250,000 number isn't raised.
