The US Government needs to look into reorganizing the military rank structure to a single line for advancement from boot camp to General/Admiral. Let’s finally remove the separation between Officers and Enlisted.
The problem in today’s military is we are placing Senior Enlisted with on average over 15 years’ experience and Bachelors degrees under the leadership of very young and officers with sometimes less than 2 years in the military and the same Bachelors degree. As the business world starts to remove redundant middle management, the military embraces the 2500 year old ideas that the cultural elites are needed to lead the ignorant masses.
