Tattoos were good enough for war...
This new policy prohibits "extremist", "racist" or "sexist" tattoos. That may sound good on paper, but in reality, it is vague. If one person decides a tattoo falls under one of these categories, that Soldier is discharged and denied further opportunity to serve his/her country. Further, Soldiers are prohibited from having more than four visible tattoos below the elbow or knee. Previous tattoos are supposedly "grandfathered", however, a Soldier will be prohibited from commissioning (becoming) an Officer regardless if the tattoos are "grandfathered" or not. Essentially, if a Soldier has tattoos, they are now either going to be discharged or will be unable to advance in their military career. Period. Let's change this and protect our Soldiers for once.
