We the people ask the federal government to Change an existing Administration policy:

Change the ban on imported cars from 25 years to 15 years

Created by E.M. on July 22, 2016

Imported cars have grown in popularity in recent years. With this popularity comes many car enthusiasts wanting to buy a car not originally sold here only to be shot down by a law that prevents importing cars that are not 25 years or older into the United States. This law stands so cars that do not meet the safety requirements are not allowed to be driven or shipped here. However, if safety is such an issue, than why not allow newer cars? The safety generally increases as a car progresses leading a newer car to be safer. There are also other benefits to allowing these cars to be imported such as an increase in tax revenue on imports, new jobs and industry being created to help bring these vehicles over, while not hurting the current dealers and manufacturers of new cars.
