Change the categorization of the Fort Hood attack from "Workplace Violence" to "Terrorist Attack"

Created by M.L. on June 05, 2013

Following the Fort Hood attack, in which 13 people were killed and 32 injured, the administration declared the attack to be "workplace violence" and adamantly refused to call it a terrorist attack.

These are not just words - by calling this attack "workplace violence", the administration has denied benefits and care to the wounded and killed that would be available to victims of a terrorist attack.

The terrorist who carried out this attack, Nidal Hassan, has now publicly stated that the attack was done to "protect the Taliban". This should remove any and all doubt that this was a terrorist attack carried out to benefit a terrorist organization.

We call upon President Obama to formally designate this a terrorist attack, conferring benefits to the victims.
