Change Columbus Day To Indigenous Peoples' Day
October 12th, 1492, a day that is in almost every history textbook, the day Columbus reached America. This day was the start of what would be the darkest period in Native American history. As soon as Columbus stepped foot on the soil he made his goal clear; to enslave every Native American, and use them for his own agenda, primarily finding gold. By 1508, because of his actions over three million people had died and there were far more casualties to come in the following years. We can’t fix the past, but we can change the future.
