In the process of founding America, Native Americans have been treated with utter disrespect and animosity. It is time we respect them, and furthermore, understand the racial implications of claiming that Christopher Columbus "discovered" America. It is time that we understand the truth of our history and embrace it. It is time for America to move forward and to readily accept the truths of how our country was founded. What was the past does not have to be the future.
