Tradition has painted Christopher Columbus as a forward thinking discoverer. In reality, historical evidence shows that he was responsible for crimes against humanity and was not responsible for many of the accomplishments attributed to him. Meanwhile, Native American tradition has gone under appreciated. We hereby petition the executive branch to officially change "Columbus Day" to "Native American Day."
