Throughout history, many people have been elected to powerful positions despite the fact that the majority of the population disagreed with the policies and plans set forth by candidates who won the electoral college. The electoral college is an antiquated political tool set forth by pre civil war land owners meant to undermine voter turnout and de value true democratic process.
Now in the 20th century, as we strive to be a better man, not only to ourselves in this great country of ours, but abroad in the new world economy; we must only try harder to strive for the rights of our fellow man. The machine of the law and of our land, and more importantly, our governing people, should reflect the values and standards that we should set upon ourselves.
We live in a new world. Fight. Now.
