Change Copyright to Fit the Constitution's Definition and Encourage US Innovation and Education

Created by A.H. on January 25, 2013

It is we, the People's, understanding that the constitution enables the government to pass copyright laws in order to promote the Arts & Sciences. It is also our understanding that current copyright can be extended for an indefinite amount of time. We feel this is an infringement on its defined role.

We would like the president to create a bill to make all further copyright be based on a calculated by-profit approach using multiple factors including: labor expended, overhead, and cost of living expenses. We wish for those who produce creative projects to be able to reap economic rewards from their work. However, we also wish for these projects to be available, in due time, to all citizens no matter their economic background.

We believe this will encourage innovation and education.
