THis petition is intended to help end the senseless copyright laws in place today. Essentially, the creator of any work has the rights to it for their life plus 70 years. The original purpose of copyright laws were to facilitate the creation of books, movies, and other creative works, not to give companies near infinite control over creative works. Instead, the copyright laws should be about allowing the creator a period of time to make money off of their creation, and then the work enters the public domain.
