Change the current classification of Marijuana from a Schedule I Drug which has "no currently accepted medical use..."

Created by C.K. on February 17, 2014

Currently, marijuana is listed as a Scheduled I Drug which the DEA states has "no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse". This classification is not only outdated, but- discredited by multiple research laboratories, countries, and top rated universities. We urge you Mr. President, to change the current classification of marijuana and to help eradicate the misguided propaganda circling this beneficial, natural herb. According to the Federal Controlled Substances Act, a Scheduled I Drug, is the strictest classification. This is where marijuana currently sits, alongside LSD and heroin. The current classification must be revised, as, you, yourself, have stated that you "don’t believe marijuana is any more dangerous than alcohol: a fully legalized substance".
