Supreme Court Justices are Presidential appointees and currently serve for life. As Presidential administrations change, so should the justices that represent the American people. Judges that influence and set the law of the land should be elected the same as all other government representatives.
As recently shown in the Hobby Lobby decision and in the Citizens United cases, Supreme Court justices are being influenced by special interest groups. This does not serve the will of the people.
Americans need to have louder voices in government than corporate lobbyists. The government of the United States of America is "of the People, by the People and for the People" and the Supreme Court should be made to adhere to the will of the people.
