In 2007, President Bush added two weeks of Daylight Saving Time to the fall calendar which unfortunately pushed it to the first Sunday of November - past All Hallows Eve. This has made the last few years of Halloween evenings too bright for proper trick or treating. Very young ones with early bed times are forced to trick or treat in broad daylight. This is no way to raise strong and resilient Americans, and this is no way to honor a holiday that celebrates the dead.
We therefore petition the president to change the end of Daylight Saving Time to the Sunday prior to Halloween, so that we can all enjoy this most precious of national holidays again in darkness!
