Change Daylight Savings Time so that it starts on a Friday afternoon, thus providing an early start to the weekend.

Created by G.F. on March 09, 2014

Americans almost universally hate the start of Daylight Savings Time (DST) because it happens annually on a Sunday morning and thus shortens that weekend for most people. However, with a simple timing adjustment, we can make this "spring forward" tradition a happy occasion for the majority of the workforce. We petition that starting in 2015 and continuing annually thereafter, DST is set to begin on a Friday at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. This will give most people a shortened work day, an early start to the weekend, and more time to recover from the clocks moving forward an hour, rather than eating into a precious Sunday and hastening the start of a new work week. For the end of DST ("fall back"), no change is needed as this already benefits most people.
